"Cut Size" Window Tint for DIYIf you don't want to cut the film to size yourself; you can simply measure your windows (as per guide below) and then either email or post the measurements to Johnno's Aussietint along with your choice of film. You will then receive a quote based on your supplied measurements and choice of film. Film that is 'Cut Size' as individual pieces is always cut slightly oversize so that once fitted it can be trimmed back so that there exists a 2-3mm gap from the frame to tint to ensure a clean, tidy installation. This is standard practice for all solar/decorative film installations. This is also stated in the measuring instructions here Note: The only films that are normally Cut 'to' Size for fitment purposes are the safety/security films, and this is done to ease installation of these thicker films, and as a result they also have a greater gap to the frame than solar/decorative films, but being a clear film, the gap is not as noticable. However, these films may still need some triming after installation due to inconsistancies in window frames and trim fitment. Further information is here in FAQ For accuracy, please don't phone the measurements through, as quotes will not be given over the phone. If you are satisfied with the quote, you can then pay by your chosen method available on payment page. Measurement1. Using a sheet of paper, do a rough sketch of the window layout as in example diagram (item 4 - example is in Imperial & Metric, but the method is same for either) . 2. Measure each pane of glass (only the glass area, do not include the window frame) and write the figure down next to the top, side or bottom that was measured. Do not use fractions, use the next whole number and this will insure that the piece of film you cut is not too small for the window. (I always add 1 inch or 25mm to the measurement to allow that little extra room for correct trimming to size). 3. Label each pane of glass on your diagram with a letter of the alphabet (see item 4), this will help you work out how much film you need to purchase. Keep a copy of the diagram, as it will be helpful when installing the film.

Now all you have to do is email or post your measurements and film choice (please include a return email address), a quote will then be emailed back to you. Once payment has been received, your window tint should be delivered via courier within 48 hours (business days). When you have received the tint &/or toolkit you ordered, simply follow the installation instructions. |
